Lachlan Wilkinson

Lachlan Wilkinson is a Principal Technical Advisor (Environmental Assessment) based in Victoria. Lachlan is a highly experienced manager of environmental assessment and approval processes, including for complex, multi-jurisdictional projects. He has experience in undertaking environmental assessments across Australia, in particular, in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales and at the national level.

Lachlan brings strong technical skills from nearly 40 years of experience in environmental management at the international, national, state and local level. He also has extensive experience as a government regulator for both state and federal governments. This includes 12 years of experience managing environmental assessments under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Lachlan is recognised for his commitment to promoting best practice and is an experienced trainer and presenter on environmental management and regulation. He was awarded the 2015 Certified Environmental Practitioner of the Year by the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. He chairs the Institute’s Special Interest Section on Impact Assessment and was the Conference Chair for the 2019 International Association for Impact Assessment conference in Brisbane.
