Minimising our Environmental Impact
At JBS&G we care deeply about our environment.
As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, our in-house Sustainability and ESG team have worked with Trace to measure and assess our carbon footprint across the business. We have subsequently implemented a number of internal reduction programs, and offset our scope 1 and 2 emissions through sustainable and conservation projects both within Australia and overseas.
We are proud to support the following sustainable and conservation projects:
- Katinga Peatlands Conservation - Indonesia: Protecting and restoring critical carbon-storing peat swamp forest
- Coorong Lakes Biodiversity Conservation - Australia: Protecting landscapes and connecting habitat in partnership with Traditional Custodians of the land
- Efficient Cookstoves - Nepal: Providing clean and efficient cooking stoves to marginalised communities
- Cool Fire Traditional Land Management - Australia: Combining traditional knowledge with contemporary technology to reduce fire risk and carbon emissions
- Generating clean wind energy - India: A cross-state initiative to generate clean energy from wind power
