Andrew Querzoli
Andrew is a Senior Principal and Chemical Engineer with over 22 years’ experience comprising of 7 years in consulting, 6 years working for mining operators/developers and 9 years as the lead for Mining assessments and approvals within the South Australian mining regulator.
Andrew has extensive experience in environmental impact assessment, mining operations, mining rehabilitation/closure, risk assessment, project feasibility and development, construction and commissioning, regulatory approvals, legislative processes and project management. Andrew has considerable cross discipline expertise gained from working on an extensive range of projects within a diverse set of industries including mining, quarrying, water, energy and manufacturing.
As the lead for Mining assessments and approvals for the SA Government from 2013 to 2022, Andrew oversaw the approval of in excess of 150 new mining leases and 350 operational programs, including approvals for the OZ Minerals Carrapateena Mine, Prominent Hill Copper Mine, Hillside Copper Mine, Hillgrove copper mine expansion, Kalkaroo Copper Mine, Portia Gold Mine, Tarcoola Gold Mine, Challenger Gold Mine, White Dam Gold Mine, Central Eyre Iron Project, Peculiar Knob Iron Ore mine re- start, Buzzard Iron Ore Mine, Cairn Hill Iron Ore Mine re-start, SIMEC Iron Ore approvals, Siviour Graphite Mine, Campoona Graphite Mine, Kookaburra Gully Graphite Mine, Uley Graphite Mine, Jacinth Ambrosia Mineral Sands, Great White Kaolin mine, Beverley and Four Mile Uranium Mines, Honeymoon Uranium Mine, Angas Zinc Mine care and maintenance and Leigh Creek Coal Mine closure.
